Sewing

As proposed by a friend, me and Growely's latest Challenge.....Sewing!

Mine
The Story is, This girls brother came in while she was sewing and asked if she'd like to go sledding with him, She said no, because she wanted to finish what she was doing first, so he promptly took it from her announcing that "He could do it faster" but he just made a mess of things which made her giggle....finally she relented  saying, she would go with him, though whether it was for pity of his terrible stitchery or worry over the destruction of her sampler I'll leave that for you to decide.

Growly's

The character in the picture is named Destiny :)

Thanks for reading, if you have any suggestions or requests please put them in comments....I love new challenges :)

For Fun

So awhile ago I was dry for idea's so went and asked my mom what I should draw next....I was met with one of my moms art class assignments (meaning, she got this from art class back when she was still in school) it was a...difficult challenge to say the least but really fun, the challenge was something I told I was doing awhile ago...yeah I told you about this before but just failed to post the end result :\ well the challenge was to create my own race of people....you know like someone made up elves, someone made up dwarves, yada yada ecetera ecetera. The hard part was figuring out something that hadn't already been done, left and right I was thinking of all those awesome creations someone else thought of....and all I really wanted was something different but with elegance...or some such sooooo yes without further ado...my Aerialkin, Telekia

The Aerialkins, are a sky dwelling people who inhabit the Northern Kingdom of Alesh (made up, for those who are curious, Alesh is a possible kingdom in my new book...you know Rion, the still in progress...still not blog published story I really need to get down to writing it.)
Aaaaaaaaaaanyways, they have winged sleeves which convert to flight capability with which they soar over villages and cities, and they have the ability to blend with the sky. They also have the power to slightly manipulate wind and fire.

So is she an original or have you seen something like her? Did I do well?
Any more requests :) please put them in comments I love to get them :)

For Claire M.

This was requested by Claire M. and I loved drawing her :) no curls was a bit of a challenge but I thought for the look I was giving her maiden elf straight would be best (Claire you didn't say whether you wanted straight or curly hair, I went with straight because I thought it went best with what you were describing but if you want I can change it to curly just let me know how curly you want it) thanks for the request though it was sooooo much fun :D

Sorry about the bad quality of the picture it was taken with my iPod and is not one of my finest iPod pics
so there you go.... :)
What do you guys think any more requests or suggestions? If so please put them in comments or on the suggestion page of Poetic Meditations.
I really love suggestions so please suggest away :D

Last Year Stuff (Unposted)

Remember last year when I started "Picture Post Week" and than it never really went from there. It was supposed to be posts (like stories) with art but I kinda just never thought of stuff that mixed with them, so they kinda drifted into just art posts (however somehow these never ever got posted...Until today!)
So without further ado the lost stuff

*Not sure if I posted this one or not?*

Based off of something My oldest sister Rachel did a long time ago (maybe I'll show ya sometime)

Yeah a long long time ago when I first started writing I wrote this really terribly written story called "The Nurse of the Civil War" I thought I'd rewrite it and post it on my blog "Poetic Meditations" but that never happened.

A random Medieval Girl I drew.

I was really into Ballet growing up and wanted to take lessons so badly but sadly that never happened (people always said I was built more for gymnastics *that didn't happen either thankfully* they never knew how the thought of flipping on a balance beam and the like terrified me!)

Another Story that wasn't to be....
FACT:  This particular piece was a second attempt (because I didn't like how two of the girls turned out!) but I really liked the girl in the middle so I kept her....if you look closely you'll see she isn't quite center with the rest of the blue lines
I cut her pretty thoroughly out of the first one and than glued her onto the second drawing
Also the brown haired girls shoes were cut out and pasted too.

This last one is a bonus, I was going to enter a book cover contests but....it didn't happen because I got lazy and never finished it so here it lays forgotten...until now :)

Sooooo which was your favorite let me know in comments :D

Another for S.

So S. gave us a choice of one of two of her idea's me and Growly decided to take it one step further and go ahead and do both! :) So last time we did her suggestion of a knight fighting a dragon and now we're doing her other! Which is.....A Pegasus!

*Hers* {Growly}
GENDER: Male
NAME: Emberwing
TYPE: Caelestis (rare)
SKILL: Warrior

*Mine*
GENDER: Female
NAME: Lorelei
TYPE:  Cloudsdale
(In the Clydesdale family of horses, slightly stockier, don't fly for long periods of time and make their homes in hidden fields far away from roadsides and populated villages and towns.)
SKILL:  Unknown

What are your idea's? What would your Pegasus be like? This'll kinda be like Storyteller's Dragonmaster Linkup. So you can make up a story to go along with it if you like....and if you guys do this send me the link and I'll....maybe make my own little story

Please put all suggestions in comments, right now we're creating our own race of people ( just like somebody came up with elves, fairies, dwarves...we'll be making up our own!) And when we're done with that we'll get to yours, Please do! The more the merrier :D

Updates and Up-in-the-air-Dates

Yay here I am with more art!
Sorry I've been kinda slow despite I know this'll hold up long enough I just never really got around to it :\
but here's the updates!!!
(in order of appearance)

Yeah, Grace (from MY previous post) and Am are pretty much the same.
*BANG* bangs drawing experience achieved! (excuse the pun)

Doodling before bed...and yes Marmy is the result

Now Lize was fun! I wish I would have videoed drawing her but by the time it occurred to me I was pretty much done; more on that little idea later

Uninspired Scroungings lead to very abstract sketches

Dream Sky was done last year but I don't believe I've ever actually posted it anywhere, however I've always thought it was cute. (You can probably tell it was done last year)

Now UP-in-the-air-DATES
I'm planning a to have all my unposted last year art pieces put on here possibly sometime this week.
But here's the big project and out of the two this is the most "up-in-the-air" I'm going to post an art video of how I draw, the project theme is going to be a surprise (but don't expect to much because it's something simple) and if all works out as planned I should have that done at least by next week...it'll be kinda sped up and have some background music (it's not a tutorial)  but here's something I want to know from you, my lovely readers, Should the music be something with lyrics or without like background music. If it's a lyric song than it probably won't be related to what I'm drawing.

I'll see when I can get that stuff done...leave an answer to my song question in comments I'd love that :D
And also which drawing was your favorite?

Hello, All!

Hellooooo!! :)  My name's Sam, but you can just call me Growly.  I'm new to this blog.  Sarah has invited me to the blog, so I will be posting things here as well.

I love to draw and write.  Both are very fun to do!  Although I do like to write, I'll mainly be posting art.  I might post stories later on (part-by-part style), but for now I will just be posting drawings, both on paper and on computer.

So, for my debut drawing, here is an elf that I drew for one of our challenges:

When I was drawing this elf, I was aiming for him to have a bow and arrow, but by the way his body position was developing, I decided to do a sword and a shield.  The uniform is inspired by uniforms often seen in medieval times.  The pants are baggy...much like a ninja's pants.  The elf also has human height, like the elves you'd find in The Lord of the Rings.

So, there you have it:  my first post here!  Hope you all enjoyed!  I'm also very excited about being a member of this blog, and I look forward to posting more drawings.

Catching Up

Haha that's right I've got some more drawings and I figure I'd better catch you guys up :)

These first two are apart of the Marin series...most of you are probably familiar with it :)

This one was inspired by a couple who recently got married, you know I said I'd gone to a wedding a few weeks back on I think Poetic Meditations.
(note it isn't supposed to look like them I just said it was inspired by them)

Amber Shield was probably one of the funnest I've ever drawn :)
I'd like you to know that thus far I don't have her as a character of any stories and she isn't very likely to get her own but she is a possible candidate for Rions story.

Ellen Song...is another character created in Samantha and I's ongoing challenges it's been really fun :)

And  this is Belle yeeeaaaah it's pretty obvious.
Ani just decided one day she was going to draw Belle, (I may possibly have something to do with that being that I had been drawing some Rupunzel at the time) and then of course I had to do some as well..some ended up being just this one...and I'll tell you I hadn't intended her to be "little" Belle it was just mid-draw I thought she looked youngish so them and there I figured I'd do all I could to make her little Belle since I thought that that'd be much more fun than just going on and making her look just as she did in the movie.

She was based off of this picture

I found it on Pinterest (gotta love Pinterest)

Soooo what do you think? Which ones your favorite? If you've got any requests or idea's for future drawing drop me a message in comments, all are dearly appreciated.
And don't forget to check out yesterdays feature post if you haven't already....http://authorclubgirls.blogspot.com/2013/10/feature-post.html

More coming when I get a new load up :)
