Secret Worlds

In which we visit the secret places of our imagination
....
and meet the people who live there

She was soooo fun to draw!!

The title is pretty self explanatory

Our First secret world :)

The second world...this one might get a small story it depends on how it pans out :)
her name is Alley Roswell

that particular picture was inspired by this one I did either last year or the year before that

I think it was originally called, "Into the Book"

Let me ask you girls something..what do these two pictures make you think of when you look at them, what do you think each girl is thinking, and which one draws you in more?
Whoever answers these questions in comments will make an appearance in the story with either their name or a name that they pick out as my way of saying thanks :)

Please do answer :D

From the Depths of Noatbuukia...

Hello, all artistic people of The Artistic Writer blog!  Growly again, and I have brought with me many ancient (and quite outdated) treasures from the great Noatbuuk (get it? Noatbuuk? Notebook? I know, bad pun).  Anyhoo, Sarah had asked me to show her some of my colored drawings, and when she saw them, she suggested posting them here.  So, here are the ancient papers...

An albino gryphon, y'know, a mythical creature with an eagle torso and a lion's heinie.  I intended him to be albino from the start, but as you can see, I started changing my mind a little on the leg, then kinda dropped it...

The mighty Tyrannosaurus Rex! A favorite among many dinosaur fans, the T-Rex is indeed kingly.

A simple drawing of a gray wolf.  The only non-grayscale-looking part in this drawing is the eye.

The majestic king of beasts, the lion.  I know for certain that I had a lot of fun drawing the furry mane. :)  However, the body of the lion seems a little off somehow...

Some drawing of an unnamed, orange...cat-creature of a sort.  Using a fine(and by fine I mean REALLY fine)-tip marker to color this was a real monster of a task, but it was worth it.

Another grayscale picture with only the eye that's colored.  This monstrous creature is what I call a wraido.  I've been working on a graphic novel for awhile (or at least the character designs) and this guy is one of the many creatures that appear in the story.  I doubt you'd want to run into one; they're very, VERY aggressive.

And this one is...a raptor with a melting clock on its head?  This actually is a reference to the Salvador Dali painting called "Persistence of Memory".  And yes, there are many melting clocks in it.
And finally, a drawing of a bird of prey called a kestrel.  One of my favorite predatory birds, the kestrel sure is cute for being a carnivore.  I've actually seen one in the flesh in a nearby nature center, and immediately fell in love with the little guy. :)

So, that's all that I have for now.  I hope you all liked the drawings I did!

Charlotte Eve Get's a Makeover

So I've been looking back and finding myself less and less pleased with Charlotte's face (mostly her far apart tiny eyes) so I decided, since she wasn't colored, to go back and fix her face...so she's Charlotte Joy now instead of Eve.

Here's the before and after pics,

So do you think the change suits her better or did you like the uniqueness of her previous self let me know in comments :D

Artistic Urges

Alright so here's all my latest pieces :D
*all of them are drawn by me and colored by Liz except for the ones marked (*)
which are done completely by me.

Phoenix Sword

Hello!  Growly again!  This is only my second post...guess I didn't have much to post, haha...
But anyway, this is a drawing that I did for one of Sarah's challenges.  One was to draw a character from your own story, and this is the result.
This is the main character from my story, Hugh.  He has quite a long story, so I'm not going to post the whole thing on the blog.  Here, he wields a mighty blade called the Phoenix Sword.  The blade is fashioned like a tongue of fire, and the hilt like a pair of wings.  Its internal blaze draws power from the strength of its wielder's will.
Sooo, that's about it.  Hope you liked it!

Drawing Like Crazy

The drawing bug bites again!
Haha but seriously when has it not bitten...I guess you could say drawing is the lead hobby at the moment...writing is kinda being held back I need Ani to get working on our book again so I can get the taste I need for Rion and Behind the Mask...if only.
But enough of that....we've got some pictures to get to :)

Elsa from Frozen :) I just had to draw her <3

Woodland girl :)
